In un futuro nel quale è possibile acquistare organi umani pagandoli dopo il trapianto, Remy sopravvive grazie a organi vitali artificiali. L'uomo, un tempo recuperatore di organi non pagati, a causa delle ristrettezze economiche, non riesce a pagare il trapianto di cuore che gli è stato effettuato passando dall'altra parte della barricata e mettendosi in un mare di guai.
