Un venditore di fumetti s'innamora di una prostituta. Le uccide il protettore e la sposa. Poi scappano con una valigia piena di cocaina. Ma i boss della mafia rivogliono il maltolto. I poliziotti vogliono i due in fuga. Tra scoppi di violenza e staffilate di dolcezza, si pratica la difficile arte della parodia. Più che di T. Scott cui non si possono peraltro negare il mestiere e le capacità tecniche dimostrate in centinaia di spot il merito è della sceneggiatura di Quentin Tarantino che allora aveva dato prova del suo talento solo con Le iene. Una galleria di ottimi birbanti, tra cui spicca l'intemerato gigionismo di Hopper e Walken.
