Tratto dall’acclamato cortometraggio del 2014 di Rod Blackhurst e Bryce McGuire, il film vede come protagonista Ray Waller, un ex giocatore di baseball della Major League costretto al ritiro anticipato a causa di una malattia degenerativa, che si trasferisce in una nuova casa insieme alla premurosa moglie Eve, alla figlia adolescente Izzy e al figlio Elliot. Sperando segretamente, contro ogni previsione, di tornare a giocare a livello professionistico, Ray convince Eve che la splendente piscina nel giardino sul retro della nuova casa sarà un vero spasso per i bambini e una buona terapia fisica per lui. Ma un oscuro segreto nel passato della casa scatenerà una forza maligna che trascinerà la famiglia negli abissi di un terrore profondissimo.
