Descrizione:
Jo Harding, una cacciatrice di tornado, si lancia insieme all'ex-marito Bill, meteorologo, e a una strampalata squadra di storm-chasers (cacciatori di tempeste) in un grande progetto: immettere all'interno di un tornado (in inglese detto anche twister) uno speciale strumento scientifico che permetterà di ricavare tutte le informazioni necessarie per costruire un piano di emergenza al verificarsi di tali violenti fenomeni. Nel film si susseguono tornado sempre più forti e i primi tentativi di Bill e Jo falliscono. Alla fine riusciranno a far funzionare il loro strumento all'interno di un devastante tornado di categoria F5.
