Arabella, moglie di un famoso scrittore ridotto su una sedia a rotelle, viene ricattata da un poliziotto che l'ha sorpresa durante una retata della polizia in un quartiere malfamato. Lo uccide ma il marito assiste e vuole farne un romanzo. Da qui una serie di delitti a cui lei è però estranea.
