Descrizione:
Ash (Bruce Campbell) porta la fidanzata Linda (Denise Bixler) nella casetta nei boschi del primo film. Lì trova un registratore a nastro che, azionato, fa sentire le parole del professor Knowby che racconta di quando ha trovato il Libro dei Morti e ha cominciato a tradurlo. Poi il professore declama alcuni passi dal Libro e così facendo risveglia una forza maligna che dal bosco precipita su Linda che conseguentemente attacca Ash prima di essere decapitata e seppellita da lui. Scampato in qualche modo, Ash cerca di fuggire in auto, ma trova il ponte divelto. Torna la notte e Ash è costretto a rifugiarsi di nuovo nella casetta. Annie (Sarah Berry), la figlia del professore, e un collaboratore del padre vanno verso la casetta per prendere la traduzione del Libro dei Morti, ma trovano il ponte interrotto. I due assoldano perciò una coppia di avidi locali quali guide per prendere un sentiero alternativo. Intanto, Ash deve lottare contro la propria mano posseduta.
