Descrizione:
Le peripezie di tre amici alle prese col vizio delle scommesse ippiche: Mandrake, indossatore morto di fame, Er Pomata, disoccupato, ricco solo di grandi risorse truffaldine, e Felice, guardamacchine abusivo. I tre trascorrono gran parte del loro tempo cercando di mettere insieme i soldi per scommettere, solitamente a Tor di Valle, e in altri ippodromi della penisola; mettono a segno furberie e truffe di ogni genere, spesso ai danni di Manzotin, al secolo Rinaldi Otello, macellaio e nemico giurato dei tre protagonisti.
