Descrizione:
La giovane Vaiana ha un'attitudine al prossimo e un'attrazione per il mare che non sfuggono agli dei. Radiosa e felice cresce sotto l'ala del padre, capo del villaggio, e lo sguardo della nonna che favorisce la sua inclinazione al viaggio rivelandole un segreto: i Maori sono stati grandi marinai. Viaggiatori alla scoperta delle isole del Pacifico, da secoli hanno smesso di viaggiare e nessuno sa perché. Cresciuta tra il padre che sogna per lei una vita stanziale e una nonna che nutre la sua fantasia, Vaiana ha deciso di prendere in mano il timone del proprio destino e di navigare in mare, oltre la barriera corallina, limite impostole. Il mondo intorno intanto sta misteriosamente morendo. Accompagnata da un galletto disfunzionale, investita paladina dall'Oceano e 'assistita' da un semidio egotico e naufragato, Vaiana affronterà un viaggio epico per recuperare l'identità dei suoi avi e regalare al mondo una nuova primavera.
