Descrizione:
Eliot Deacon è un impresario di pompe funebri efficientissimo nel suo lavoro. Anna Taylor, invece, un'insegnante che da tempo non riesce più a dialogare con il fidanzato Paul. Dopo una lite furiosa tra i due, la giovane donna si sveglia sul lettino dell'agenzia funebre di Eliot, intento a preparare il suo corpo per il funerale. Col dono di parlare ai morti non ancora giunti oltre la soglia, l'uomo le spiega che è stata portata lì in seguito ad un incidente automobilistico in cui ha perso la vita: benché si senta viva, infatti, quella che sta attraversando è solo una fase di transizione verso l'aldilà. Intanto Paul nutre qualche dubbio su una morte di cui si sente diretto responsabile.
